Overlooking the picturesque shoreline of the Bay of Picton, this elegant house is placed to take full advantage of the view. It was designed to follow the simple but substantial precedent of the United Empire Loyalist style of architecture still to be seen in many parts of Prince Edward County. Our property embraces over three acres of a park like setting on the waters edge. The house is surrounded by towering pines and other mature trees. The interior layout of this large home was skillfully designed - access to the principal rooms is from an elegant paneled traverse hallway, known also as the gallery rather than from the foyer. It's walls are graced with fine Burmese tapestries and interesting works of art. A free standing staircase leads to the upper guest rooms. Each guest room is distinctly decorated, each with it's own character and charm. Sitting rooms are available and guests are encouraged to use the sunken living room, sit on the terrace with it's attractive vista of bay and hills beyond or relax in the gazebo beside the two tiered pond with it's cascading waterfall. Full breakfasts, served in the formal dining room or solarium, are complemented with fresh fruit, homemade preserves, muffins, coffee and tea. Gourmet dinners are available in the evening for groups of six or more, advance notice required. Guests are invited to enjoy the amenities of our home and the surrounding area.
