Enquire about Slocum House Inn, Bed and Breakfast
Slocum House Inn is a romantic country getaway located on 25 pastoral acres just outside of Gettysburg. PA. The Inn derives its name from Henry Warner Slocum, a Union General who contributed to the defeat of the Confederate army at Gettysburg. The beautifully restored circa 1759 home is a treat for travelers who want a real getaway. Although the home was originally constructed as a settler\'s log cabin, it has been expanded over the years with stone additions. Great care has been taken to preserve the original character of the home and grounds. The rooms are decorated in Williamsburg style with 18th century antiques and reproductions. Guests are welcome to explore the gardens, vineyard, and trout pond or perhaps relax by the swimming pool. Slocum House offers three bedrooms all named for General Slocum\'s Division Generals. The Williams room is upstairs in the main house. This room has a four poster queen size bed, hand made quilt, stenciled walls, private bath, and air conditioning. The Geary and Greene rooms are located in the guesthouse. Each room has a private bath, stenciled walls, pencil post queen size bed, working fireplace and air conditioning. A full gourmet breakfast is served in the dining room where friendly conversation and warm hospitality combine to provide guests with a memorable bed and breakfast experience.
